off Amherstburg - A man drowns after a sailboat capsizes on the Detroit River, OntarioSailboat/2026/—/Capsize · Fatality

On 20 July 2026, two Michigan men sailing on the Detroit River capsized their boat near Amherstburg, Ontario. Neither was wearing a lifejacket. A passing boat helped until the Coast Guard arrived, but one man had already gone underwater; he was pronounced dead in hospital. The second man survived.
